Premier League Darts: Is Gerwyn Price back to his best after win in Antwerp? 'There's no way I can't pick up a major'

Gerwyn Price has warned his rivals he is back playing some of the best darts of his career and says a major title is just around the corner after winning Night Two of the Premier League in Antwerp.

Price beat , three points behind early leader Van Gerwen.

'The Iceman' is a former world champion, three-time Grand Slam of Darts and World Grand Prix winner, but he has now set his sights on ending his five-year drought for a major TV title.

The Welshman has been in blistering form so far in 2026. He recorded three out of the top five averages at Players Championship 2 in Hildesheim earlier this week, but failed to pick up the title - losing to Wessel Nijman in the final.

Price defeated last week's finalist Gian van Veen, World Cup partner Jonny Clayton, and then ended Van Gerwen's unbeaten start to the Premier League in Belgium.

"I know I'm playing well, but you still have to do it on a big stage and it doesn't always happen, like in the first game," he told Your Site after his win.

"Gian had a shot at the bull to beat me and it could have been a different story, and I could have been sent home with another loss. I came through that one, which gave me a little bit more boost of confidence.

"I played fantastic in Germany [Players Championship], but it's trying to do it on the main stage. Towards the end, I did, and I tried to focus. It was great. Just to get two points, I was happy, but five points is even better - and 10 grand!"

Price admitted he is playing "the best" he has ever played but says he still needs more with world No 1 Luke Littler and defending Premier League champion Luke Humphries currently way ahead of the chasing pack when it comes to silverware.

"I think I'm playing some of the best stuff I've played. I'm just not winning tournaments, and that will come," said the Welshman.

"If I keep playing the way I am, there's no way I can't pick up a major, pick up ProTours, Europeans (European Tour events). I just need to keep entering as much as I can and keep the form rolling.

"How I didn't win that tournament [Players Championship 2], I don't know! Fair play to Wessel Nijman. He played fantastic on his darts, and that's all you've got to do. If you play well on your darts and win matches, then you win tournaments. I'm going to get some!"

"Obviously ranking points and ranking tournaments are the main priority, but turning up week in, week out for crowds and trying to perform and win and pick up points, that's what gives you confidence going into ProTours and Europeans.

"This is probably top of my priority, but I just need the win in these to give me confidence going into ProTour [Events]. So, yeah, it's probably top priority at the minute."

Night Three of the Premier League will take place at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow next Thursday, as the darting roadshow visits Scotland for the first time this year.

Stephen Bunting will be looking to pick up his first points of the year, as he takes on Van Veen, with Josh Rock looking to do the same as he plays Humphries in the second game of the evening.

Night One winner Van Gerwen takes on the 2024 Premier League champion Littler, while Price kicks off his bid for back-to-back nightly wins as he goes head to head with Clayton on Scottish soil.

Who will win this year's Premier League Darts? Luke Humphries will be defending his title and you can watch the action every single Thursday from February until May on Your Site. .
